When multiple products from the InMotion™ product suite are purchased they will come with standard inter-operability interfaces, provided at no charge.  In addition, several other interfaces are available should an agency chose to implement them.  These can be both product specific, accessed enterprise-wide through all applications or provide specific data exchange functionality in order to integrate to third party hosts / systems.  All interfaces are server based and maintained by the InMotion™ Interface Manager and it's associated Control Panel.

The nature of interfaces dictate that they run in the background, unattended, the users oblivious to their presence (until they do not work!).  The nature of communications, however, is that things will go wrong (e.g. a connection to a remote host can be lost, a required/connected system can be rebooted etc.).  The Product Interface Modules though will not fail.  This is because of the Interface Manager - this is a proactive monitoring tool that is in constant communication with all the installed interfaces, if any one has a major problem it is immediately reset, if the problem continues then the appropriate person is automatically contacted.

Standard interfaces available include a DB Monitor, Mobile Client Interface, Mobile Radio Interface, 911, Data Exchange (Import/Export), Replication plus interfaces for TDD, Paging, External Email Gateway, and others.

One of the most powerful interface is the Data Exchange utility.  This is actually a framework of tools and configuration tables that allow any data to be exported and/or imported between the InMotion™ products and any third party product(s).  This interface module ensures reliable interaction and an openness/willingness to participate in the wider enterprise environment.

This is just a sample of the many interfaces available as part of the InMotion™ implementation.
